This is a beautiful, antique copy of "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" by Charles Dickens. 1904; G.P. Putnam's Sons; London and New York. The book features in-text illustrations, decorative drawings in the margins and full-page engraved plates (over each plate is a piece of tissue paper with a line of text printed on it) by Frederick Simpson Coburn. Illustrated floral end papers in color. Gilt top edge. Condition: Clean covers and spine with bright gilt lettering and designs; sharp corners. Tight binding. No cracks. No loose pages. The pages are in great condition - clean and white with only a few random, light ink smudges found; no writing, tears or foxing found. Small bookshop label affixed to the front pastedown. It appears something had been affixed to the front end paper then removed, resulting in a bit of the decorative paper peeling off (see photo). A small slip of paper with an inscription on it has been affixed to a rear blank end paper. Overall the book is in very good condition.
