The book was reprinted as late as the 1880's and became one of the classics on California. Bound in a brown pictorial cloth centrally stamped in gilt, spine lettering gilt, some rub through to upper board fore-edges, spine with wear and chipping, front inner hinge apparently had been reglued, previous owner's stamp to verso of frontispiece.
