Colt 1861 Navy U.S. Martially marked. This marked 1861 has several U.S sub inspectors marks such as O, C, D, L on various parts. Cylinder has a good plus to very good cylinder scene. The cylinder marking with the Colts patent is marked “olts Patent” and no serial number. Obviously not set perfectly in the Jig and this was partial stamped. This cylinder, in our opinion is original to this revolver and exhibits identical wear and patina to the rest of the revolver. The cylinder scene is about 70% visible and the ships and waves are easily visible. The lack of serial number on the cylinder we have seen many times and is a human error. Hard to find martial 1861 Navy. NOTE: No 1861 navies bear a “U.S” on the frame near the Colts patent as is seen on the 1851 navies, 1861’s are inspected but NO U.S. Mark.
