AN EGYPTIAN PAINTED WOOD MUMMY PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN\nROMAN PERIOD, CIRCA 160-180 A.D.\nPainted in the tempera technique, dressed in antiquity in order to accommodate it to the mummy, with a few patches of linen preserved along the front of the panel, depicting a woman in her youth with an oval face, pointed chin, thick eye brows, large eyes with dark thick lids, long narrow nose and small mouth with full red lips, her wavy hair pulled back, her head turned slightly to her left, her gaze directed forward, wearing a mauve tunic and mantle, the folds gray, with black clavi, adorned with hoop earrings set with pearls and a broad necklace with a central medallion\n13 7/8 in.
