A group of postcards relating to the German passenger liner MS Monte Cervantes of the Hamburg-Sudamerikanische Dampfschifffahrts-Gesellschaft, also known as the Hamburg South American Line. The collection features a variety of real photo and printed postcards depicting the ship at sea, being guided by tugs, and in port. Interior views include the smoking lounge, identified by printed text as Rauchsalon, and the main hall, identified as Halle. Several cards capture scenes of passengers and officers on the deck. One card bears a handwritten German inscription that reads Auf Monte Cervantes 1927. mein Mann und ich. Another example is postally used and addressed to Frau Eva Friedhoff in Argentina, featuring an Argentine postage stamp and a partial postmark from the late 1920s. Multiple card backs include printed company information such as DAS NEUE ZWEISCHRAUBEN-MOTORSCHIFF MONTE CERVANTES 14000 BRUTTO-REGISTERTONS.
