1723 Rosa Americana Twopence. Martin 3.7-E.9, W-1334. Rarity-4. AU-55 (PCGS). CAC. Blended olive and chocolate-brown toning. Sharply struck nearly everywhere with most of the original luster surviving in the fields. The impressions of both dies show excellent centering. A nice Rosa Americana twopence of the 1723-dated issue with a highly desirable numismatic provenance. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. Earlier ex Hollinbeck Stamp & Coin Company, 1956, to the following; our (Bowers and Merena's) sale of the Norweb Collection, Part II, March 1988, lot 2431; our Chicago ANA Auction of August 2011, lot 6022.
