Here is a bottle of extraordinary rarity: Sassicaia 1968, the very first and legendary commercial vintage ever released by Tenuta San Guido. A true milestone that marked the history of Italian wine and the birth of the Super-Tuscans worldwide. This specimen comes from a private collection and has been stored with great care. It presents an aesthetic that is fascinating and rich in history, the details of which are faithfully documented in the photographic gallery. Level and neck: Definitely excellent for a bottle of this age, positioned high on the shoulder / base of the neck. In the inner neck the characteristic line of sediment left by natural aging when lying on its side is clearly visible. Cork: Tight-fitting capsule, which preserves on the top the historic dry stamp with the eight-pointed star and the classic signs of time. Label: The front label bears the original wording "Vino da Tavola". It shows a beautiful amber patina due to the years, with some cellar-related stains and two small central upper and lower corner paper losses, which do not compromise legibility. Visual characteristics: When the bottle is backlit, the wine reveals warm garnet reflections and there is clearly visible the rich, natural deposit of sediment resting at the bottom of the dark glass. The bottom presents the typical pronounced punt, the ribbed circular base, and the mould number "44" stamped on the lower edge. A truly unique collectible piece, ideal to enrich the most prestigious cellars or as an investment in great fine wines.
