1975 Lamborghini Espada Series III

Introduced at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show, the Lamborghini Espada was a striking 2+2 grand tourer designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone. Gandini drew inspiration from two of his prior designs – the Lamborghini Marzal concept and Bertone Pirana – to pen the sleek lines of the Espada. Mechanically, the Espada utilized the Giotto Bizzarrini-designed 3,922 cc Lamborghini V-12 engine borrowed from the 400 GT, along with six Weber carburetors and Girling four-wheel disc brakes. Built from 1968 through 1978, the low-slung, four-place Espada was the longest-running Lamborghini model in production before the Countach. The Espada Series III offered here was originally delivered in Canada and is one of just 55 examples to be outfitted with a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Later owned by a member of the Kuwaiti royal family, the Espada was tendered to the restoration workshops at the Lamborghini factory in 2003 for a substantial refurbishment in its striking original colors of Oro Metallizzato (Metallic Gold) with Senape (Mustard) leather. In current ownership, the gold Lamborghini has received further attention with a focus on its power braking system. Accompanied by a Lamborghini Certificato d’Origine and attestation of the factory restoration, this outstanding, lateproduction Espada, made even more notable by its rare specification, represents a truly enticing opportunity. car
