GROWTH: Vineyards 20-30 years old. AGING: 13 months in new Nevers oak barrels. TYPE OF OAK: French oak. APPROXIMATE PRODUCTION: 210345 TASTING NOTES: Very intense cherry, almost opaque, very bright and lively. Aroma of good intensity, refined and complex, with red and black fruits, licorice and menthol notes, over a background of well-integrated quality wood. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with citrus notes and plenty of fruit, but with some fairly lively tannins still, leading to a notably persistent finish. Reserva red wine from Ribera del Duero (Spain) produced by Bodegas Alión with Tinto Fino grapes from a 30-year-old vineyard of 130 hectares located in Padilla, Valbuena de Duero and Pesquera, 70 of which are within Vega Sicilia’s own estate. The aging in wood and cement of 12 to 14 months, depending on vintage characteristics, is carried out entirely in new bordelaise French oak barrels, renewed each year. The most suitable food pairing would be with red meats, charcuterie, roasts, stews and game (both feather and fur). It can be drunk in perfect condition from now until 2040. We recommend decanting it, and serving at a temperature between 14°C and 18°C, preferably in a Tempranillo-type Riedel glass. Each batch is shipped individually and there is no possibility of grouping since the transport rate used is MONOBULTO. Its condition is never guaranteed; it is a collectible wine.
