Salvioni La Cerbaiola is a family estate whose production decisions are guided by the character of each vintage and the quality of the grapes. Its Rosso di Montalcino forms an important part of the estate’s production, expressing the identity of its vineyards in a younger wine. The 2024 bottle carries a stated production of only 9,333 bottles on its back label, making this a particularly interesting release for enthusiasts of small-production Tuscan wines. Poggio di Sotto’s Rosso di Montalcino 2022 is made entirely from Sangiovese and undergoes two years of maturation in wood. The estate approaches its Rosso with considerable care, producing a wine that combines accessibility with the capacity to develop in bottle. Together, these bottles provide an appealing comparison between two producers, two vintages and two interpretations of the same appellation. Bottle Condition: The front labels appear well preserved in the photographs. The Salvioni back label has a visible tear along its upper edge. Both capsules are present, with minor visible surface marks. Please examine the photographs carefully for the exact external condition of each bottle.
