A GEORGE II MAHOGANY CARD TABLE CIRCA 1755 With double gateleg action, the hinged top enclosing a baize inset surface, counter wells and candle stands 73cm high, 98cm wide, 49cm deep Condition Report: Old marks scratches and abrasions, old splits and chips commensurate with age and use Minor evidence of old worm as expected for age and material, mainly confined to the underlying timber of the rear frieze and is not significant. Some old repairs and replacements including some veneer and concealed section of timber of a hinged rear leg section (see additional images), some minor old losses Baize fitted glued to the tops of the hinged rear legs (to cushion top when folded over) . The baize to the interior playing surface is replaced (as expected) generally in fairorder and would benefit from a clean. Some minor residue may remain. No old breaks to legs or feet. Some later blocks to underside of top as most often seen The drawer handle is a period replacement (alternate holes visible to reverse of drawer front) An old divided split to floor of drawer lining as often seen (and a slender fillet has previously been placed there) .
