probably South German, late 16th or early 17th Century, modelled as a strongbox, of rectangular form, the hinged cover with a cast foliate loop handle and a hasp, the panels studded with bosses within beaded borders, the corners applied with cast female herms, on a shaped bracket apron, struck with a maker's mark only, apparently a conjoined FR monogram, to the cover and the apron. 4cm high, 5.8cm wide, 3.5 troy ounces
