Æ (XX-XXI) - Set of 3 – “Jiji’s Quiet Corners” (2026) – Mixed Media Triptych

Æ (Spain, b. 1977) Jiji’s Quiet Corners – Triptych (Set of 3) – 2026 This intimate monochrome triptych captures Jiji, the beloved black cat, within three softly atmospheric scenes that evoke warmth, calm, and a gentle sense of everyday magic. The compositions invite the viewer into a world of stillness and quiet charm, where mood and presence take precedence over narrative. The first panel introduces a peaceful interior moment — Jiji resting near a luminous window, surrounded by subtle shadows and a tranquil domestic ambiance. The scene conveys the familiar comfort of silent spaces and reflective solitude. At the center, Jiji’s expressive gaze emerges in a richly textured composition infused with flowing organic forms and delicate blossoms. The image radiates a dreamlike serenity, balancing graphic intensity with a soothing visual rhythm. The final panel offers a poetic and playful note, placing Jiji beside a miniature Eiffel Tower amid drifting petals. The imagery blends nostalgia, travel symbolism, and whimsical imagination, reinforcing the sense of gentle escapism that defines the series. Rendered in deep blacks and nuanced tonal transitions, the works emphasize texture, softness, and atmosphere, recalling the tactile beauty of vintage print surfaces. The restrained palette enhances the timeless, cozy character of the triptych, making it both visually striking and emotionally inviting. Conceived as a cohesive set, the three artworks function as a harmonious visual ensemble — ideal for collectors drawn to poetic imagery, Japanese-inspired aesthetics, and character-driven contemporary prints.
