With an apparent date “71” Support: Canvas on wooden stretcher Condition: Generally good state of conservation, with signs of age and use compatible with its period. 2. DESCRIPTION Expressive interpretation of one of Vincent van Gogh's most emblematic landscapes: Field of Wheat with Crows, painted in Auvers-sur-Oise in 1890. The composition shows a wide golden wheat field traversed by winding paths that progress toward a low horizon, beneath an intense blue sky dotted with numerous birds. The work does not aim to reproduce the original mechanically, but to reinterpret its language through a pictorial material, gestural brushwork, and strong chromatic contrasts. 3. STYLISTIC AND COMPOSITIONAL ANALYSIS The composition preserves several of the fundamental elements of Van Gogh's model: the wheat field, the paths penetrating into depth, the compressed horizon, and the restless flight of the crows against a sky of great intensity. The execution is notably material. The wheat is built with short, impasted brushstrokes in yellows, ochres, earth tones, and whites, while the paths appear defined by thick brown and green bands. The sky is resolved with broad, dynamic brushstrokes in different shades of blue, deliberately reinforcing the sense of movement characteristic of Van Gogh's painting. 4. PSYCHOLOGICAL DIMENSION The scene preserves the emotional tension of the famous Auvers landscape. The converging paths, the closed horizon, and the multitude of black birds generate a sense of unease and movement that contrasts with the luminosity of the wheat. The strong clash between the yellows of the ground and the blues of the sky also constitutes one of the essential chromatic resources associated with Van Gogh's pictorial language. 5. SIGNATURE AND HYPOTHESIS OF AUTHORSHIP The work presents a signature made in reddish pigment in the lower left corner. Alongside it, a dating can be discerned that can be read as “71”, compatible with execution around 1971. The painting must be cataloged as “After Vincent van Gogh,” since it is a later work by another artist taking as reference a composition known from the Dutch master. There is no claim of attribution to Vincent van Gogh; it is a later pictorial interpretation signed by its own author. 6. OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST The fundamental reference is Field of Wheat with Crows, created by Vincent van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise in July 1890. The author of this version maintains the emotional and chromatic structure of the model, but develops a distinctive technique, especially visible in the strong impastos of the wheat and in the almost sculptural resolution of some brushstrokes. In detail, one can appreciate a painting applied in a direct and abundant manner, with areas where the brushmark remains clearly visible.
