Painting of the Italian Twentieth Century by Alberto Gallerati Size XL “From Your Empty Pots” Oil on canvas, signed and catalogued Years ’80/’90 Measurements: 115 x 94 cm Canvas: 100 x 80 cm Ideal for collecting and investment Alberto Gallerati – From Your Empty Pots - Work of intimate and symbolic character, in which Alberto Gallerati builds a scene suspended between domestic reality and a visionary dimension. A young woman, absorbed and melancholic, lies on a bed while, beside her, a large kitchen with seemingly empty pots introduces a quotidian element that takes on an evident metaphorical value. The domestic space opens in an almost unreal way toward a wide mountainous landscape crossed by waterways, creating a striking contrast between the narrowness of the interior and the immensity of nature. The deliberately altered perspective, the checkered floor, and the simplification of forms give the composition a dreamlike and metaphysical atmosphere. The title, From Your Empty Pots, also shown on the back of the work together with the signature, seems to suggest a reflection on absence, waiting, and emptiness, transforming the simplest objects of daily life into poetic elements. The female figure thus becomes the emotional center of a silent and contemplative composition, characterized by a subdued palette of ochre, earth tones, pinks and blues. Born in Piacenza in 1945 where he lives, works and pursues activity as painter, sculptor and printmaker. He is regarded by Raffaele De Grada as one of Italy’s best watercolorists. He began his artistic production in 1968. He has been President of the Association of Piacenza Painters and founder of the Piacentini Narrators Group. His exhibition trajectory has developed in Rome, Milan and across the country, well beyond his 50th solo show, before turning to international exhibitions.
