The goddess Diana depicted as a huntress, accompanied by two large dogs. "Vargas Girl" style is characterized by a detailed rendering of the human body and soft lighting. The work was originally created around 1929 as a watercolor on board. The dancer Caja Eric (known from the Ziegfeld Follies) served as the model for this. This is one of Vargas' largest original artworks. Published in Esquire (March 1941). To meet a tight deadline, Vargas reused this image for Esquire magazine in 1941. Because a fully nude portrait was not allowed in the magazine at the time, an acrylic overlay was temporarily painted over it, giving her a green outfit.
