Alessi - Achille Castiglioni - Cutlery set (60) - ''Dry''...

Cutlery set of 60 pieces composed of fifteen tablespoons, fifteen table forks, fifteen table knives and fifteen coffee spoons. This ''Dry'' cutlery set was designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1982, it marks Alessi's debut in cutlery production. Which makes it the most famous and classical cutlery piece produced by the Italian design company. These pieces will be sure to become a contemporary family classic at each table. ''Dry'' features a groundbreaking design that, despite gloomy initial forecasts, amply demonstrated that the iconic and innovative force of its form, together with exceptional tactile pleasure in its use and an excellent finish, are a lot more important to the public than many long-held market prejudices would have us believe. This ''Dry'' cutlery set is in unused and new condition. Delivered with original packaging and documentation. The cutlery is dishwasher safe. About Achille Castiglioni: Born in Milan in 1918, he started work as an architect and designer with his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo in 1938. One of the great masters of Italian design, he was a founding member of ADI in the fifties. The long list of awards he has received include eight Compassi d'Oro. His activity as a designer is an unmistakable blend of simplicity, irony and fun and it shows his close interest in the way objects are used, in the potential offered by technology and in the use of new materials. Castiglioni designed for many famous brands like Cassina, Olivetti, Driade and Flos. He died in 2002.
