Alessi - Michel Boucquillon & Donia Maaoui - Coaster (2)...

Add a touch of poetic, organic elegance to your table with this striking black set by Alessi, combining the "Bark" napkin holder and the "Barknest" basket in one harmonious duo. Designed by Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui, these pieces come from the harmony of design and nature, inspired by the trees surrounding the two designers' home-atelier in the Tuscan countryside, a place of creativity and meditation. The organic, bark-like perforated pattern turns each object into an element that brings a touch of contemporary, understated elegance to the table. Black Napkin Holder: Replicating the organic lines of its design, this napkin holder adds a distinctive accent to the table with its evocative style. Its matt black finish contrasts beautifully with the bark-inspired texture, creating a contemporary detail that keeps napkins close at hand at all times, with effortlessly stylish tidiness. "Barknest" Basket: This round basket, in name and form, recalls a cosy nest with rounded walls for holding and safeguarding precious contents. Produced at Alessi's factory in Crusinallo, Omegna, the metal sheet is cut, laser perforated, bent, and finally welded to achieve the organic, sinuous shape desired by the designers. Its compact dimensions allow it to be used in various contexts: in the kitchen, at the table, or on a desk, enhancing any room where it is displayed. Dimensions: Napkin holder: W 7.5 x D 3 x H 12 cm "Barknest" basket: Ø 21 x H 7 cm This set is in brand-new, unused condition and comes complete with its original Alessi packaging. Clean with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive detergent. Michel Boucquillon & Donia Maaoui: Born in Belgium in 1962. In 1988 he won the competition of the chamber of European Parliament in Brussels which signed the beginning of his Architectural and Design career. Designed by Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui, the “Bark” collection was inaugurated in 2015. The designers drew their inspiration from their home, Casa Boucquillon: it is a place for experimentation, meditation and work where they can live in synch with nature. The perforated pattern of the “Bark” range recalls the bark on the trees that surround the house. Michel actually works for the world most famous International Design companies: Artemide, Antonio Lupi, Ferragamo, Serralunga. His work is present in several Museums and got many of the main international Awards, recently: Menzione d’Onore Compasso d’Oro 2011, Good Design Award 2008, Design Plus 2006. Donia Maaoui, Michel’s wife and an architect herself, works alongside her husband on some of the Alessi and Martinelliluce projects, although her principal occupation is cast bronze sculpture and painting.
