Alphonse Daudet / Daniel Fort, dit Fordan - Lettres de mon moulin - 1986

Charming numbered edition 136 on Lana royal vellum and illustrated with beautiful color compositions by Daniel Fort, aka Fordan - The collection presents itself as a series of letters and tales supposedly written from an old Provençal mill, an imaginary place that becomes the narrator's privileged vantage point on a region both real and rebuilt through literary memory - From the opening pages, Daudet contrasts the luminous tranquility of Provence with the noises and constraints of Parisian life, making the mill a symbol of a return to the sources, of freedom and of communion with a nature still preserved - The reader is thus invited to explore a Provence populated by shepherds, peasants, hunters, merchants, religious figures, landowners, picturesque characters and animals, each contributing to compose a true human gallery - Alphonse Daudet / Daniel Fort, aka Fordan - Lettres de mon moulin + Suites - 1986 - Nouvelle Librairie de France - 288 Pages.
