altro - Ashtray - Gilt brass - Brass and Cast Iron of the 1960s

Vintage floor-standing ashtray with shaft - Brass with heavy anti-tip base in cast iron and push mechanism (70s) Object description: Type: Floor ashtray / rotatable pedestal ashtray stand with handle Material: Brass frame, internal mechanism with black bakelite knob and a massive counterweight cast-iron anti-tip base Era: 1970s Dimensions: Height: 60 cm Maximum diameter (bowl): 17 cm Weight: 5.4 kg (ensures exceptional stability) Description of aesthetics and the "Fané" charm: A magnificent and solid vintage-inspired floor ashtray, featuring a functional design and a striking presence. The slender body is topped by a convenient upper handle and equipped with a push mechanism with a central black bakelite knob, ideal for dropping cigarette butts into the reservoir beneath, keeping them out of sight and containing odors. What makes this piece irresistible for fans of mid-century modern and retro taste is its lived-in, imperfect appearance: the patina of time, subtle hues, and signs of wear on the brass do not diminish its value; they confer that unmistakable Fané and bohemian charm, perfect to stylishly blend in with an eclectic living room, an artist’s studio, or a venue with an industrial and refined character. The heavy cast-iron base ensures absolute stability, making it as safe as it is decorative. Conditions of conservation: The object shows a natural and fascinating patina of time and small surface marks consistent with the era, which enhance its aesthetic authenticity. Functioning mechanism and robust structure. Packaging and shipping: Packaging: Because this is a heavy object (over 5 kg) with brass parts, a professional, reinforced, and tailor-made packaging will be used to protect every component during transport. Shipping: Tracked and insured with major international couriers.
