AMA • Pope (1985) - Neon Paradise

AMA • Pope (1985) - "Neon Paradise" - 2/20 Dive into a neon vision of the sacred with this Pope-signed crucifix, entirely handmade in a limited edition of 20 copies for 2025. On a fluorescent pink cross stands a satin black Christ, whose light seems to pierce the matter itself. Under blue or UV lighting, the piece literally ignites and the cross emanates superb glows. Between pop provocation and spiritual fascination, "Neon Paradise" playfully experiments with the codes of religion and contemporary visual culture. A timeless symbol revisited, at the crossroads of the sacred and the spectacular. The cross can be placed or hung thanks to its discreet notch on the back. Artwork numbered, dated, signed and delivered with an authenticity certificate "AMA". Fast and careful shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper and cardboard) with signature required on delivery. Who is Pope? Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of visual arts since childhood, an uncompromising attention to detail and meticulous visual research. Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and awed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him. Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name but a few. Whether for a gift, a keepsake or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite among our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art and pop art creations (in limited or non-limited editions), addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury and haute couture brands, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sport, sneakers...). Brands influence our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously misappropriate labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others. Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to appreciate the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unwarranted claim will be entertained. Thank you for your understanding.
