Amazing Heteromorph Ammonite- Crioceratites Majoricensis...

Rare spiny heteromorph ammonite, Crioceratites majoricensis, from the Upper Hauterivian, zona baleare. A remarkable, well-preserved specimen with a fully inflated, three-dimensional shell and beautifully preserved spines. This museum quality Crioceratites specimen was discovered and prepared by a renowned fossil preparator and collector Donna Fossils. Many painstaking hours of work were required to expose the three-dimensional side of the fossil from the matrix and carefully reconstruct its delicate spines. Note that spines rarely fossilize, are incredibly difficult to prepare and some likely wore off during the ammonite's lifetime. In this specimen spines have been reconstructed when the specimen is been prepared to show how it might have appeared in life. Restoration notes: 100% of the spines are reconstructed and glued into their original anatomical position. The Ammonite is 8,5 cm from spine to spine. Matrix is 12 cm high. It looks great from every angle and would be an amazing display in a home, office or museum. Please note that colours may vary slightly from those shown in the photos, as they were taken under professional lighting and may appear differently depending on individual screen settings. SAFE & SECURE SHIPPING : the fossil is carefully packaged using a specialised protective method to ensure the delicate spines remain fully protected during transit.
