Amber 18-Bead Handheld Prayer Strand with Hardstone Beads Description: A finely preserved amber 18-bead handheld strand, accompanied by four hardstone beads. Traditionally known as an “18-bead” (18zi) strand, this type of Buddhist accessory is frequently represented in historical Chinese court collections and palace inventories. The amber beads display a rich and highly attractive luster, with natural internal fissures and age-related characteristics that enhance their visual appeal. Four finely colored hardstone beads complement the amber, creating an elegant contrast in color and texture. The piece may have been associated with an imperial court lady and designed as a personal devotional or portable accessory; however, such an attribution cannot be confirmed. The amber retains some minor natural imperfections consistent with its age and material.
