fourth quarter 19th century, the face labeled "Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co., Philadelphia", the tubes signed "Walter H. Durfee, Prov. R.I.", the case likely by Daniel Pabst, Philadelphia, the triple train movement with nine tubes playing Westminster or Eight Bells, with time and strike and a rotating moon dial, the hood with a broken-arch pediment centered by a carved hourglass and flanked by opposing female winged busts, the mid-door with a beveled glass and shell-carved cartouche, the case with a tapered base on pad feet.
