A very special magic emanates from a high-quality coloured gemstone: Because the intense colour of the light, the brilliance and the depth with which natural gemstones seduce, all these impressions cannot be compared with other materials. And it doesn't always have to be sapphires, rubies or emeralds that offer this magic. In this pair of earrings, it is amethysts which, in terms of colour and light, need not fear comparison with the most precious gemstones. The cabochon-cut stones are framed by a sparkling row of old-cut diamonds. They are set in silver and present the amethysts like the blossom of a rare plant. The shape of the brilliant-cut diamonds, the use of silver on a gold base and the elegant design language show that the earrings were originally created around 1900. However, they were altered several times over subsequent generations. The amethysts with their settings are probably later additions, as amethysts were only very rarely used in diamond jewellery at the turn of the century. The ear studs on their gold shells and the practical hinged hoops were finally added to the antique showpieces in more recent times. This means that the earrings can be worn safely and carefree. The earrings came to us from Baden-Baden.
