Ancestral couple, Lobi, Burkina Faso, 19th-20th centuries

Descriptio Copper alloy. Dimensions: 29 cm high. This set comprises two human figures conceived as an ancestral couple, crafted from copper alloy and rendered with a marked formal simplification. The figures are frontal and stylized, with compact volumes and schematic anatomical features, linked to the Lobi sculptural and ritual tradition. The surface retains a dark patina with greenish and earthy tones, as well as oxidations and irregularities characteristic of the metal alloy and the passage of time. This lot is in an international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required.
