Ancient Roman Roman Empire – Ancient Bronze Fibula (Brooch) – c

**Title:** Roman Empire – Ancient Bronze Fibula (Brooch) – c. 1st–3rd Century AD **Description:** Ancient bronze fibula attributed to the Roman Imperial period, featuring a distinctive curved bow and a broad decorative disc with a finely textured outer rim. The brooch displays a substantial, elegantly arched bow terminating in a profiled head section. The prominent circular disc is decorated with a subtle pattern along its perimeter, giving the object a characteristic architectural appearance. The largely preserved pin mechanism on the reverse demonstrates its original function as a fastening device for garments. Fibulae were widely used throughout the Roman Empire to secure tunics, cloaks, and other garments. In addition to their practical purpose, they also served as decorative accessories reflecting contemporary fashion and regional traditions. The bronze surface displays an attractive green-brown patina with visible signs of age, surface wear, and mineral encrustations. **Details:** - Culture: Roman Empire - Period: c. 1st–3rd century AD - Material: Bronze - Object: Ancient fibula / garment brooch - Length: 4 cm - Weight: 18 g - Condition: Age-related wear, natural-looking patina and areas of corrosion.
