Alla auktioner / Samtida Konst / Andrea Fregi (1971) - Icona in kimono
Oil painting on canvas from a collection. Hand-signed by the contemporary artist Andrea Fregi and with the Gallery stamp. Title: Icon in a kimono Measurements: 70x55 cm Year: 2023 Andrea Fregi, born in 1971 in Taranto, is an Italian contemporary artist who blends figurative elegance with decorative sensitivity in a refined and immediately recognizable style. Andrea Fregi creates works characterized by female figures suspended between classicism and modern vision, in dialogue with precious backgrounds, ornamental textures and intense color schemes that evoke a timeless aesthetic. Through a sophisticated visual language, Andrea Fregi transforms the portrait into a poetic dimension, where beauty, mystery and harmony coexist in perfect balance. The figures painted by Andrea Fregi are not simply subjects: they are presences that inhabit a space between the sacred and the decorative, between the antique and the contemporary. Andrea Fregi's artistic research draws on a deep knowledge of Italian painting tradition and the decorative arts. Fregi fuses Renaissance compositional rigor with the ornamental richness of Byzantine and Oriental art. Each work by Andrea Fregi is built through a layering of material, color and symbol that gives the painting surface a almost tangible quality. In Fregi’s works, gilded backgrounds, geometric textures and floral motifs are not mere decoration but integral parts of the visual narrative: they frame the figures, protect them, and elevate them to icons of a beauty that transcends time and space. www.andreafregi.com NB: The work will be shipped inside a sturdy tube suitable for shipments. The colors of the painting may differ slightly from the photos due to screen settings. In person, the artworks are more beautiful than in photography: one can appreciate the hypnotic beauty of oil colors coming to life on the canvas.
