Andy Warhol (1928-1987) (after) - Endangered Species...

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) For sale is an authentic and complete vintage 1989 edition of the Andy Warhol Endangered Species portfolio, published by te Neues Publishing Company in New York 1989, under license from Schlaifer Nance and Company, and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. This specific edition was printed in the Federal Republic of Germany. This is the highly sought after large format exhibition portfolio series which includes the full set of six offset works. Size: 40 x 31,3 cm The six subjects included in this complete lot are: Grevys Zebra African Elephant, Bighorn Ram, Siberian Tiger, Black Rhinoceros, Pine Barrens Tree Frog. Each sheet measures approximately Size cm. Features the original circular blindstamp seal of the Andy Warhol Foundation in the bottom right corner of the white margin. Critically, this lot is 100% complete as issued, featuring the original outer presentation folder and the original internal text sheet containing the Andy Warhol Chronology biography, the legal colophon details, and the artist photo portrait. Conditions: The collection has been stored flat. The core graphical color areas on all six prints remain vivid, bright, and beautiful. Five of the prints are in mint structural condition, showing only the typical light natural paper waviness or undulating rippling along the lower white margins, which is very common for this specific 1989 paper stock and can be easily flattened with a nice frame. The Grevys Zebra print, which serves as the cover piece, shows some light superficial signs of age consistent with a genuine 1989 vintage item. There is a visible crease or dog ear fold on the bottom right white corner directly over the area of the embossed seal, which is confined entirely to the blank white margin and does not touch or affect the colored ink portion of the artwork. Additionally, the turquoise portfolio cover piece features a few minor, light surface smudges and tiny pinhead sized age spots from gentle handling over the decades. These minor characteristics are purely cosmetic, do not distract from the powerful overall visual impact, and can be easily managed or concealed if mounted with a professional museum mat or custom matboard frame. Will be shipped flat with hard protection and tracking Number.
