Anthonie Waterloo (c.1610-1690) - Il viaggiatore e il suo cane

Condition: Excellent engraving impression, good state of conservation with slight foxing and browning, insignificant tear outside the incised line. The paper shows a light and natural patina of age, narrow margins with clearly visible plate marks, all as shown in the photo; Support: Laid paper with traces of a watermark; partial watermark; Shipping: Insured shipment via Bartolini/DPD courier. To take advantage of the insurance coverage, any damage to the work must be reported to the courier at the time of delivery. Otherwise, it will not be possible to activate the insurance reimbursement procedure. Provenance: From a private collection; Anthonie Waterloo (baptized in Lille on 6 May 1609 and buried in Utrecht on 23 October 1690) was one of the most prolific and esteemed landscape artists of the Dutch Golden Age. Although he is recorded in contemporary documents primarily as a painter and art dealer, his current fame and historical legacy are inextricably linked to his extraordinary graphic production as a draughtsman and etcher.
