The special thing about diamonds cut more than 100 years ago is their individuality. In a time when every facet was still created by hand and the rough diamond was looked at closely to bring out the most beautiful in it, the range of diamond shapes created in this way is far greater than today. The present wonderful diamond of the years around 1890 shows this impressively, because it is not round, like a modern brilliant, but shows itself in the form of a sparkling cushion. The masterful old mine cut of the stone gives it character and its shape makes it unique. The diamond, weighing 1.35 ct, is held in place by a platinum setting that is set with additional small diamonds on the ring shoulders. Simple and elegantly crafted, the incoming light is also refracted by the platinum's reflection and reflected back radiantly. We have added the detailed setting in our workshop to the stone, which is more than 130 years old, creating a charming symbiosis of new and old that produces an individual piece of jewellery. With the staging of the cushion cut diamond in the finely crafted ring, the antique stone is beautifully highlighted and so we have a unique ring with class!
