A graceful necklace from England: the stylized leaf and flower motifs wind richly into a symmetrical and airy composition. At the center of the filigree necklace is a beautiful, delicate purple amethyst surrounded by small, beaded flowers. Another drop-shaped amethyst gives the piece a graceful touch of color, and a third, round faceted stone holds the simple anchor chain together, to which the showpiece is attached. The object was created at the beginning of the 20th century. At this time, jewellery in warm, shiny yellow gold, richly set with natural pearls, was in fashion in Great Britain. Necklaces and pendants in particular were created using this technique, such as this magnificent piece. The use of pastel-colored gemstones such as amethyst is also typical. The necklace takes us back to the Edwardian Era, the heyday of the British Empire. It is in very good condition.
