ROMAN NECKLACE IN BLACK GLASS AND GRAINED GOLD — 1st–4th CENTURIES CE. Length: 50 cm Weight: 16.01 g Rare antique necklace composed of black glass beads and elements of granulated gold, attributed to the Roman period, between the 1st and 4th centuries CE. The glass beads display a beautiful natural archaeological patina as well as traces of age compatible with their age. The gold elements preserve a remarkable old warm patina and reveal a particularly decorative granulation work. Provenance: former London collection, previously on the French art market in the 1970s–1980s. Acquired from a renowned UK auction house and accompanied by its illustrated lot declaration signed by Dr. Raffaele D'Amato, head of the Antiquities department. Condition: good overall condition considering age. Wear and patina consistent with age. Mounting preserved and wearable. Export license: no specific export license required for this object.
