Antonio Borsato (1911-1983) - Sculpture

Splendid and rare terracotta sculpture signed by master Antonio Borsato, founder of the famous ceramic manufactory active in Milan from 1940 and later in Nove (Vicenza). The work depicts a charming pastoral scene: a young woman in traditional dress with a decorated bodice, seated with a serene expression. The composition is enriched by naturalistic details of great charm, including a lamb approaching the girl on the left, a hen at her feet, and a rustic basket/trunk decorated on the right. The sculpture stands out for its extraordinary attention to sculptural details, which enhance the texture of the fabrics, the plumage, and the animal fur, highlighted by the warm tones of natural terracotta. Signatures and marks: it bears the artist’s engraved signature on the base, flanked by the embossed marks "MADE IN ITALY" and "ORIGINAL". It also features under the base the original handwritten label certifying its provenance and the factory’s history. Condition: Excellent overall condition, in keeping with the period (please carefully examine all attached detailed photographs to verify every detail). Dimensions: Ideal as a refined element of classic, rustic, or collectible decor. An unmissable piece for collectors of Italian ceramics and 20th-century terracotta art. Careful, traceable shipping with professional protective packaging."} } }}> Null, used as final. Ensure only one JSON object. The above has extra closing braces due to formatting; fix.
