The board is supported by a particularly original base, imagined as a large inverted glass. Its slender silhouette narrows under the chessboard before flaring generously toward the ground. This form deliberately distorts a familiar object to make it the pedestal of a work, giving the impression that the chessboard is balanced above a monumental chalice.
