Ascend - Olga McNamara

Ascend by Olga McNamara Painting 35.4 x 47.2 :: Ascend is about the moment when something inside us begins to rise. Energy gathers breaks through and moves upward even when we don’t yet know where that movement will take us. I built the painting through layers of deep red black turquoise and flashes of light allowing the colours and textures to collide and pull away from each other. The composition grows from a concentrated centre and opens outward creating a feeling of movement strength and release. For me Ascend is about finding the strength to move forward leaving behind what no longer holds us and trusting the energy that carries us toward something new. ?
