Ashtray - Oak - Standing ashtray

Elegant decorative standing Art Deco ashtray. The ashtray probably dates from the 1930s or 1940s. It is turned from oak and at the top has a twisted ashtray (see photos). The ashtray is therefore entirely wood, including the ashtray section. It is 62 cm tall, and the diameter of the broad base is 21 cm. The diameter of the top is about 15.5 cm. The ashtray has three resting places for cigarettes. The twisted stem is still in good condition. There is a faint scorch mark on the rim, and a spot where some wood has been sanded away (see photos), and the inside is logically blackened. The scorch marks are superficial and typical of a used ashtray. The base is extra wide to prevent the ashtray from tipping over if someone bumps into it. The ashtray is a nostalgic object, once a familiar sight in every living room, but now a rarity. The ashtray will be carefully packed and insured for shipping.
