Posture & Robing: Represented seated in vajrasana on a smooth pedestal, the body is enveloped in the monastic robe (Sanghati) whose folds are repoussé-engraved on the chest and back. Traditional fabrication: The visible opening beneath the base reveals the interior filling material, characteristic of this goldsmithing technique popular in the northern regions of Burma (Shan) and Laos. Technical characteristics Origin: Southeast Asia (Shan Burma / Laos / Northern Thailand style) Era: 19th century Materials: Silver leaf repoussé over a votive core in clay/resin Height: 9.8 cm Weight: 42 g Overall condition: Fine antique use wear, preserving a superb patina of old silver.
