Astrophysics.- Schuster (Arthur) "Radiation Through A Foggy Atmosphere", in The Astrophyscial Journal, vol.21, pp.1-22, light marginal browning, ex-library copy with ink-stamps, contemporary half calf, spine darkened, library paper label to spine, rubbed, 8vo, Chicago, 1905. *** Schuster formulates for a radiative transfer problem applied to stellar atmospheres, aiming to explain the origin of absorption and emission lines in stellar spectra. He demonstrates that light undergoes multiple scattering, which alters its observable properties. Included in this volume are three articles by George Ellery Hale which established the foundations of modern solar astrophysics.
