AUSTRALIA 1934 group of flight covers (5) with Sydney Marshall New Guinea to Queensland first flight bearing ½d, 1½d and 3d, tied 'Port Moresby 21.MAR.34' (this flight failed to take-off, so re-scheduled for 12th April), signed by pilot, also the first Australia to New Guinea flight cover, 1934 (Sept 28) UK to Australia and Sydney to Melbourne covers each signed by pilot Freda Thompson and 1935 (Oct 23) B. Shiel Darwin to UK cover (number 8 of 49), then carried on the return flight by Kingsford Smith (ultimately unsuccessfully, therefore returning to London). A fine and scarce group.
