Plate 4 from the series: The Seven Deadly Sins, with the address of Hieronymus Cock. A very fine impression, with the lines of text printing clearly and distinctly. With a narrow margin, trimmed just within the platemark below. The preparatory drawing, signed and dated 1556, is in the British Museum, London (inv. no. 1920,0216.1). – A restored area at the upper edge and upper left margin, with the lines skilfully touched in. A further restored area in the upper right margin, also touched in. With a flattened central vertical fold. Verso with minor repairs along the lower edge. A few skilfully repaired tears within the subject. Mainly on the reverse with a few brown sport. Otherwise in good condition. | c. 1525 Brueghel near Breda – Brussels 1569 | 15.-18.
