Balance or scale - Metal

Antique table-top letter-weighing scale – 1930s/1950s – Fully functional We propose a splendid mechanical vintage letter-weighing scale, an authentic object of history that combines elegance, precision and industrial charm. Probably made between the 1930s and 1950s, this scale was used in post offices, professional offices and companies to weigh letters, documents and small packages with precision, determining the exact postage rate. Before the advent of electronic scales, it was an indispensable instrument in everyday life. The distinctive frame design, the robust black enamelled base and the chromed metal plate make it today a refined collectible and decorative item, perfect for a study, a library, an office or a vintage-style display case. This scale bears witness to an era when every letter was weighed manually with care and precision. Today it represents a fascinating reminder of the history of postal communications and the mechanical engineering of the twentieth century. Ideal for collectors, enthusiasts of vintage instruments, interior designers and lovers of industrial and vintage style.
