Previously from the Davidson College Art Collection, Davidson, North Carolina Photographs by Barbara Morgan of the Martha Graham Dance Company are landmarks in the history of photography and dance. Morgan is one of the most important photographers of the twentieth century, and Graham is considered the creator of modern American dance. In Martha Graham: Sixteen Dances in Photographs, Graham says that Morgan successfully "capture(s) the instant of a dance and transform(s) it into a timeless gesture." Overall very good condition; some imperfections within printing; minute rubbing lower left and upper right corners.
