An old-cut diamond is always individual. Unlike today's modern brilliant-cut diamonds, of which almost one looks like the other, old-cut diamonds always have their own unique, hand-created proportions and shape. The large diamond of 1.84 ct in this white gold ring presents itself in very good clarity and brilliance. It was cut in the late 19th century, as its typical "Old European Cut" reveals. The stone is slightly tinted, which gives it a warm light. The solitaire in a stable six-prong setting is accompanied by four smaller old-cut diamonds, which set the shoulders of the ring and lend the design a beautiful lightness. These stones were also cut in the 19th century. The sturdy goldsmith's work that makes the diamonds into a ring is made of high-carat white gold. The design and the generous use of materials suggest that the ring was probably created around 1950. The diamonds are therefore far older than the ring itself. Perhaps they were heirlooms that found a new form here. The impressive ring comes with external certificates confirming the quality of the materials used. It came to us from the south of England.
