Belle Doxx – “Goddamn” – Original mixed media on canvas An original and unique work by the Dutch contemporary artist Belle Doxx, in which her characteristic combination of text, symbolism, figuration and personal observations comes together in a richly layered composition. In Goddamn Belle Doxx brings together several recurring motifs from her oeuvre: eyes, wings, skulls, lightning bolts, religious references, female figuration and handwritten texts. The work reads almost like a visual diary in which thoughts, memories, beliefs and contradictions exist side by side. The large word “GODDAMN” forms a powerful visual anchor within the composition. Around it appear sentences and concepts such as “Pretty Poison”, “Rebirth”, “Soul Searching”, “Sinful Saint”, “Truth vs Dare”, “Paranoia / Madness” and “Get to the Future”. Together these fragments create a world in which faith, desire, guilt, freedom, ego and self-examination continuously intersect. The female figures and recurring eyes reinforce the introspective character of the work. The eye functions here again as a symbol of awareness, observation and self-reflection. The wings and religious words refer to the tension between the sacred and the earthly, while skulls and texts about sin and redemption show the darker side of that search. Visually Belle Doxx combines a light, almost ethereal background with soft pastel tones, black, gray and subtle neon pink accents. The many layers, visible lines and handwritten notes give the work a spontaneous, unguarded feel. The result sits at the intersection of urban contemporary, neo-expressionism, street art and pop art. About Belle Doxx Belle Doxx is a Dutch contemporary artist with a recognizable visual language in which painting, text, symbolism and influences from pop culture and street art come together. Her work has been presented among others during a solo exhibition in Shelter Amsterdam, a solo exhibition at Gallery BLNDSH in The Hague and at the NOCKNOCK Art Fair. She also participated in a group exhibition at Black Art Gallery in Antwerp, where works by, among others, Harif Guzman and Stig De Block were shown. Belle Doxx has also collaborated with the international artist Machine Gun Kelly, for whom she developed artwork for merchandise. In 2025 her work was also presented by Playboy. Within her oeuvre themes such as identity, ego, belief, femininity, good and evil, freedom, temptation, chaos and self-reflection recur regularly. Her paintings often function as visual streams of consciousness in which personal experiences and universal themes converge.
