BÉRAUD (Henri). *The Martyrdom of the Obese*. Paris, René Kieffer, 1925. Small quarto, blue morocco leather, with interlaced gold and red concentric circles at the center of the covers forming a large gold-embossed and guilloché cartouche, interior border adorned with a double fillet, red dots at the corners, violet silk endpapers and lining, gold-embossed headband, untrimmed, cover and spine, slipcase (René Kieffer). A unique copy, one of 50 on Japanese paper, enriched with 62 full-page watercolor illustrations by G. de Sainte-Croix executed for an edition that was never published (note by René Kieffer). Three autograph letters from the author are included. From the Gérard de Berny Library (II, 1959, no. 110). Spine slightly darkened.
