Description: This unique work by Bernard Aubertin, master of combustion and central figure of the ZERO movement, features a poster depicting the famous pop icon Marilyn Monroe in her most iconic pose. Aubertin directly intervenes on the poster with real burn marks, letting the flame traverse the image and transform its surface. The scorch marks — dark stains, tangible openings, burnt-out areas — become an integral part of the composition, creating a powerful dialogue between pop culture and radical gesture. The artist's handwritten signature, accompanied by the date 2010, confirms the work's authenticity and places it in the mature phase of his research, when Aubertin experimented with unconventional supports and with iconic images of visual culture.
