Original work by Bernard Aubertin, created in 1973, during one of the artist's historically most significant phases of research. Dessin de Feu constitutes one of the most characteristic cores of Bernard Aubertin's research. Through the action of fire, the artist directly transforms the matches and the support, making the traces of combustion an integral part of the work. The scorching marks, color variations, and alterations visible on the cardboard are therefore natural and intentional consequences of the artistic process. Dating to 1973 places the work in the historical phase of the early seventies, a period in which Aubertin develops his research on fire, red monochrome, Tableaux Clous, Allumettes, and Dessins de Feu, within the context of the European avant-garde tied to the ZERO experience. Provenance from Galleria Centro in Brescia, the autograph on the back, and the archival documentation further contribute to the work's collecting significance. Condition: excellent, compatible with the age, technique, and nature of the work. The combustion traces and the alterations to the support visible in the photographs are an integral part of the artist's technique and do not constitute defects.
