Blek Le Rat (1951) & Shepard Fairey (1970) & Sybille Prou...

“David with Machine Gun” - Artist’s Proof (AP) - Serigraphy, 2008 In 2008, two major figures of street art met: Blek le Rat (Xavier Prou), a pioneer of stenciling in Paris since the early 1980s and an acknowledged influence on an entire generation of artists, including Banksy, and Shepard Fairey, alias OBEY, creator of the “Hope” poster that same year. From this collaboration arises “David with Machine Gun,” a silkscreen print where the armed David motif, Blek le Rat’s emblematic image, dialogues with OBEY’s graphic language. This copy is an artist’s proof (AP), printed outside the main numbered edition and traditionally rarer on the market.
