Boch Frères La Louvière - Charles Catteau - Paire de...

Art Deco vase designed by Charles Catteau for Boch Frères Keramis, La Louvière, Belgium, circa 1925–1930. This elegant "ovoid" vase features a rare and smooth white glaze (fine faience) instead of the more common crackle finish. This specific execution allows the hand-painted stylized floral motifs in vibrant colors to stand out with exceptional clarity and contrast — a hallmark of Catteau’s most modernistic Art Deco designs. The colorimetry is absolutely exceptional. The harmonious proportions of Shape 1270 underline the refined balance between geometric structure and organic decoration that made Catteau’s work world-famous.
